Shantell Martin for System 1224
At Global Shop 2014 (a trade fair specializing in display, merchandising, signage, and store environment products), B+N Industries invited the British visual artist Shantell Martin to lend her creative vision and whimsical doodles to System 1224. In a live art-making demonstration, Martin enhanced the stark System 1224 installation, comprising black and white acrylic panels and clear display cases holding all-white Converse, with her signature freehand line drawings of faces, objects, and words. Martin’s work is an inquiry into the opposing roles of artist and viewer, expressing her thoughts on her own internal state in communication with the impermanent world that her art exists within.
